That episode was…good? LOL-tastic Bieber, emotional weight, character development? Glee, you sneaky minx.
LOVE
1. BIEBER FEVER. I love how hilarious it is that Justin Bieber is supposed to be the same age as these kids because of the CW casting. However, it made it almost even more adorable to see the cast sing it (and freak out like fangirls about it) sincerely because, dude, you’re all like 30.
2. Sam the Good Guy. I am so glad they went the route of him breaking up with Quinn. It makes him better than Finn (who kissed Rachel while dating Quinn) and sets up a possibly fantastic arc with Santana, the dark cheerleader. She will either lead him to the dark side, or he will lead her to the light.
3. Awesome Sue Character Development. I love that she kept her hardened exterior while still showing her gooey center and also finding a new passion perfectly in line with her interests.
HATE
1. Quinn the Slut. No joke, I’m tired of this. I actually wanted to see her try to be with Sam, even if she didn’t succeed. I didn’t want her to be toying with both boys and then picking one because he did a Bieber performance. There was nothing in Finn’s recent behavior that made the audience think lack of sincerity was the reason Quinn couldn’t commit to him.
2. Forced Emotional Moments Featuring Others with Physical Handicaps. Why do characters on this show feel that whenever someone needs a wake up call, that person needs to Gain Perspective from others with physical handicaps? It’s so manipulative. (Admittedly, it makes perfect sense that this would open Sue’s heart, but the fact that Will took her there in the first place is such a groan.)
